Are there Romance languages descending from Classical Latin?

<<Quando eu ver um post de Mallorqui em ingles estarei contente :-)>>

E aqui seria "ficarei contente" ou, melhor ainda, "ficarei feliz".

<<Saying French and German sound similar is subjective too, but it is so subjective that only you and your teacher say this, while most of people will agree with me. >>

An that wins the Subjective Grand Prize!
Congrats!

Italian and Spanish sound similar...
French no.

French sounds similar to Portuguese, from my subjective point of view. But it does not sound similar to German, French is meliflouous and German is considerably harsh (Bavarian accent is less harsh).

<<To me French is the quitessence of sweet sounding languages >>

What is "sweet"? Everyone thinks that their own language is "sweet". That doesn't tell me anything.

Have you ever heard anyone else say French sounded sweet?

I've heard: "nasally", "gutteral", "harsh" (but not "harsh-as-German-Harsh"), "froggy", etc. and I'm not saying these to be nasty. These are honest terms I've encountered--but never "sweet".

French is not my mother tongue. Mine is harsh.

Maybe. (To me, Portuguese, esp Brazilian, sounds like RUSSIAN)
but this is coincidence...

I actually like the sound of both French and Portuguese, but I do not think they sound alike--that is, I would never confuse a Portuguese speaker for a French and vice versa
